South Florida has special challenges for people seeking safe locally-grown and produced food.

Very few farms now exist to serve local markets in what was once a rich, diverse, and productive agricultural region.

And our sub-tropical climate is challenging for the home farmer, especially those who have migrated from more temperate northern climes.

The Urban Farmer is working to make locally-grown food more available and to help home farmers grow abundantly. We do this by:

• Delivering delicious weekly shares of fresh-picked locally-grown food to our subscribing CSA members and visitors to our Patio Market.
• Providing unique growing systems, supplies, and knowledge for success to local home and institutional farmers – including hydroponic and soil-based systems.
• Building, managing, and promoting sustainable urban farms.
